Weekend Roundup & Week Ahead – Thrills and Spills

Readers, I have to confess I’ve had a wonderful weekend. Now most people, once they’ve met me IRL, don’t believe me when I say I’m actually an introvert. Nell, they say, you can’t be! You’re just too friendly and bubbly. Well, this weekend I’ve had a lovely time just chilling out by myself and not straying too far from home. And I’m feeling absolutely energised by it. If that’s not introverted behaviour, then I don’t know what is.

I spent a good bit of time working on my freelance projects this weekend. I had a great phone conversation with my little bro where we swapped ideas and talked about adventures in small business ownership. I’m feeling like things are going well for a lot of people I know right now, and I’m just so damn excited about what’s to come.

What I Was Reading This Week

Laurie posted on Frugal Rules some ideas for Christmas shopping that won’t break the bank. I can’t believe it’s getting to that time of the year again. Thankfully I’ve been really organised this year and have been putting money away since January! But I’m still dreading actually working out what presents to get everyone in my life.

Young Adult Money had a great post about why blogging is the ultimate side hustle. I’ve loved what I’ve been doing so far with my blogging and totally agree that it’s so easy fit around my other commitments.

And because I’m working to turn this side hustle into the main event, it was great reading Alexa’s post at Single Mom’s Income about how to avoid burnout. I’ve got a lot of enthusiasm and drive right now, but I need to make sure that I don’t neglect the other things that are important to me in my life.

Other Places I Appeared

Big thanks to Cat at Budget Blonde for featuring my guest post on how to save money on a wedding by getting sponsored. I had a lot of fun researching this post and if I ever get married I think I’ll look at getting sponsors to offset the cost.
